Just days ago, I was finally granted access to conduct Congressional oversight at the Broadview ICE detention facility — a place the Trump Administration repeatedly tried to keep me out of. They denied access. They delayed action. They threw up every bureaucratic roadblock they could find. But here’s what they didn’t count on: a federal court reaffirming what should have been obvious all along — Congress has the constitutional authority to conduct oversight of executive branch facilities. So we went in. And what did we find? Multiple people detained there, in contradiction to what the Trump Administration would have you believe.
