Utah Judge Delivers Major Win for Fair Maps

Hi friend,

In a landmark victory for democracy and fair representation, Utah District Judge Dianna Gibson has struck down the Republican-drawn congressional map — ruling that it “unduly favors Republicans and disfavors Democrats.”

Instead, Judge Gibson adopted a new map proposed by the League of Women Voters of Utah and Mormon Women for Ethical Government, restoring fairness by keeping Salt Lake County largely intact and giving Utahns across the political spectrum a real voice in Congress.

For years, partisan politicians have carved up communities to cling to power — silencing voters and undermining democracy. But this ruling changes everything. It’s a resounding win for fairness, for accountability, and for every Utahn who believes elections should be decided by voters, not politicians.
