 All it takes is a one hour drive through any part of this state to know that Louisianans are hurting badly and things aren't getting better for them. You will see people living in dilapidated houses damaged from hurricanes years ago, towns without grocery stores, and children doing homework from McDonald's parking lots because they don’t have broadband. This is America’s poorest state - when gas prices rise here it hits us hard.  Across Louisiana the price at the pump is rising to as high as $4.40/gallon and could rise to $6.00/gallon and higher in just a few weeks. Louisanans aren’t stupid and when they see these prices, they will know who to blame.  The exposure of Trump in the Epstein files, broken promises on affordability, and the disastrous Iran war have turned Louisiana into a tinder box for the GOP. Now astronomical gas prices are setting ablaze any hopes of the MAGA voting block turning out this November. No one is going to show up.  We can expect record breaking low GOP turnout across Louisiana in November, however that alone may not be enough. As furious as voters are with Trump, Louisanans on both sides of the aisle feel abandoned and yearn for someone who will fight tooth and nail for them.  I am that fighter, my name is Jamie Davis and I’m the Democrat running for U.S. Senate in Louisiana. My story is as Louisiana as it gets. My ancestors worked this Delta land when they were slaves and today my son and I farm the very same fields together but now we own them.  We can capitalize on MAGA’s self-destruction but only if we build the infrastructure to persuade these voters that we will fight for them and that costs money, a lot of it.
