In 2024, thanks to the tremendous work of the Cascade County Attorney’s office, a Montana woman named Pamela was found guilty of multiple felony counts of animal cruelty. A devastating fire on her property in 2020 led authorities to a horrific discovery:   172 animals suffering in filth, without food or water. Many were too sick or injured to save. Give Now to Protect Animals from Abuse The Animal Legal Defense Fund wasted no time speaking up for the animal victims in this case. We filed an amicus brief with the court, advocating for the removal of the remaining animals from Pamela’s possession.
