We then learned Kuwait took similar measures as well. It appears this was the real reason Donald Trump abruptly abandoned the so-called “Project Freedom” less than 24 hours after announcing it. As we discussed from the start, Iran immediately viewed Project Freedom as a dangerous escalation. Iran responded by striking a UAE port in Fujairah, a UAE ship, a South Korean vessel, and reportedly a French-flagged ship as well.
