Morning Digest: A Florida Republican warns her party not to get greedy in redistricting
Did you see Pete Hegseth’s press conference on Friday morning? It was a shameful performance in every way, but one line truly stood out. Railing against CNN’s coverage of America’s war against Iran, Hegseth sniped , “The sooner David Ellison takes over that network, the better.” Ellison, if you’re not familiar with him, is a failed actor and the son of centibillionaire Larry Ellison. He also happens to be the CEO of Paramount, which acquired CBS last year and quickly sought to curry favor with Donald Trump by naming right-wing provocateur Bari Weiss as head of the network’s news division. Now Paramount is poised to gobble up CNN, too, and if Hegseth’s comments are anything to go by, Trumpworld is excited to bring yet another major media organization under its boot.
