  Today in Politics, Bulletin 334. 3/23/26 Ron Filipkowski Mar 23 ∙ Preview …  TACO Trump  is back on the menu, as the incompetent bumbling flip-flopper-in-chief backed down from his pledge to bomb power plants in Iran beginning this evening unless Iran opened the Strait of Hormuz. Iran didn’t open the Straits, but they did threaten to retaliate by bombing desalination plants in Israel and throughout the Middle East. … But Trump claimed that he is only surrendering because Iran contacted him begging and pleading to participate in “peace negotiations.” But Iran state media, as well as every relevant govt official, denied Trump’s claim. Trump was asked to name an Iranian official who was supposedly in negotiations with  Jared Kushner  and  Steve Witkoff,  but he refused. … Trump posted this morning shortly before markets opened: "I AM PLEASE TO REPORT THAT THE USA, AND THE COUNTRY OF IRAN, HAVE HAD, OVER THE LAST TWO DAYS, VERY GOOD AND PRODUCTIVE CONVER...

Today in Politics, Bulletin 141. 5/29/25 Ron Filipkowski May 29 ∙ …  TACO Trump  is all the rage on social media after CNBC reporter   Mary Cassella  asked Trump this question about him always backing down on tariffs: “Wall Street analysts have coined a new term called the ‘TACO’ trade. They’re saying Trump always chickens out, and that’s why markets are higher this week. What’s your response to that?” … Trump came unglued: “I chickened out? I’ve never heard that. Because I reduced China from 145% down to 100 and then down to another number? 6 months ago, this country was stone cold, dead. We had a dead country. We had a country, people didn’t think it was going to survive. And you ask a nasty question like that! It’s called negotiation. We were doing no business because of the tariff, because it was so high. But I knew that. But don’t ever say what you said.
