PROTECT PUBLIC LANDS AND THEIR WILDLIFE! 245 million acres of America’s public lands are overseen by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) – lands that are home to a wide array of birds, fish, deer, and other animals, including some of our most imperiled species. For too long, he BLM has put industry first on these lands, threatening habitat for wildlife. Then, under President Biden, the BLM finalized the Public Lands Rule, which provides clear direction to consider conservation in decision-making and begins to restore balance to public land management. Now the Public Lands Rule is in the crosshairs of the Trump administration. This important rule could be ripped back, returning land management to an outdated, extraction first model that prioritizes development over long-term benefits for communities and wildlife that depend on these lands.
