Late last year, Donald Trump ordered Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to rig Texas’ congressional districts to help Republicans build a firewall that could withstand a potential Democratic blue wave in 2026. The result was a gerrymander so ambitious that it flipped 5 Democratic seats to the GOP with the stroke of a pen. The conservative Supreme Court eventually approved their work, solidifying MAGA’s gains and encouraging further red state redistricting. Now other red states have followed suit: North Carolina (+1 GOP), Missouri (+1), Ohio (+2), Utah (+1), and Florida (+4 GOP). The situation is dire, but we don’t have to take this lying down. We are fighting back — and using the slogan of Texas swagger and pride “Don’t Mess with Texas” as a rallying cry: We’re definitely gonna Mess with Texas.
