After coming shockingly close to winning Tuesday’s U.S. Senate race, the Louisiana Democrat is now talking about challenging the state’s Republican governor next year. “Jeff Landry, you’re on notice, buddy,” Davis declared at his election night party. He confirmed to WAFB later that evening that he was interested in running against Landry, though he suggested he might be open to backing another candidate instead. Davis, a farmer and former local elected official in rural Tensas Parish in northeastern Louisiana, delivered those remarks after losing to Republican Rep.
