America, are you seeing the pattern in everything happening in Louisiana right now? A Black man was elected Criminal Clerk of Court in New Orleans with 68% of the vote, after promising to bring integrity and transparency to the courts. Republicans then moved to eliminate his seat. Calvin just so happens to be Black. The Supreme Court guts the Voting Rights Act. And Louisiana’s governor canceled the election by executive order so the legislature could redraw the maps and eliminate Cleo Fields’ and Troy Carter's seats. They both just so happen to be Black. There is a pattern here, and the rest of the country had better recognize that what is happening in Louisiana is a test run for what the Grand Old Party wants to do across the nation.
