What he did was fire up a majority of House Democrats to form a multi-racial, multi-generational coalition of solidarity against his racist, antidemocratic actions. Speaker Sexton’s move to disenfranchise over 1.5 million Tennesseans from representation on House committees where major decisions are made is a double-down on the racist redistricting vote to eliminate the state’s only majority Black district.
