File photo A former legislative aide has accused state Rep. John Gaskey (R-Carver) of making unwanted sexual advances and retaliating against her for rejecting them. Gaskey, who represents the 2nd Plymouth District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, which includes a portion of Middleboro, faces a civil lawsuit alleging multiple counts of sexual harassment. He has denied the allegations. A court filing in Suffolk Superior Court on Aug. 3 details a sequence of allegedly inappropriate behavior from Gaskey toward his former State House aide Kayla Churchill. Churchill accused Gaskey of firing her because she would not have sex with him or entertain his advances. Christopher DiRusso, 55, was charged by criminal complaint with possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine and 500 grams or more of cocaine. MIDDLEBORO -- A Middleboro camp administrator and head counselor has been arrested on two counts of possession of child pornography, according to the Massachusetts State Police. Leon Dyer, 45, was arrested July 25 by the Massachusetts State Police Cyber Crime Unit Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Crime Scene Services, and the Belmont Police Department He had worked at Camp Avoda for more than 23 years, according to his LinkedIn profile. File photo MIDDLEBORO -- Massachusetts serves as home to as many bees as there are days of the year. At least 365 species of native bees live in the Bay State and they play an important role in our daily lives. Plymouth County Entymologist Blake Dinius will present a workshop about the importance of bees at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at the Middleboro Public Library. Bees are some of the most important pollinators in the environment. Roughly, 4 out of 5 native plants depend on native pollinators, like bees. These plants include favorites like pink lady slippers.. The program offers children the chance to learn more about bees and participate in some hands-on activities, The program is aimed for those ages seven to 17. Registration is required. The Middleboro Select Board, which also serves as the town’s water commissioners,    has restricted outdoor water use as the state deals with drought conditions ranging from mild to critical Effective immediately, a ban has been placed on non-essential water use.  This ban includes the following: Irrigation of lawns via sprinklers or automatic irrigation systems. Handheld hose watering is permitted. Washing vehicles, except in a commercial car wash or as needed for operator safety. Filling swimming pools. Washing exterior building surfaces, parking lots, driveways or sidewalks except as needed to apply surface treatments such as paint, preservatives, stucco, pavement or cement. Eric Gunnison, 59, of Middleboro faces 23 charges of photographing an unsuspecting nude person, and one charge each of unauthorized access to a computer system and criminal harassment. He was arraigned Thursday, June 18 at Wareham District Court.
