  Great news! A New York court has  delivered a hard-won victory for ducks and geese   with a ruling that allows New York City’s ban on foie gras sales to take effect after years of industry-backed challenges. Foie gras, or “fatty liver,” is produced by force-feeding birds with a tube down their throat until their livers become diseased and unnaturally enlarged—and for its cruelty, it is widely opposed by consumers.
