The beloved movie musical, “The Sound of Music,” is celebrating its 60th anniversary with much fanfare. It is this week’s reason to smile. To commemorate the anniversary, a newly restored and digitally remastered version of the film had a theatrical release in September. You can see and hear for yourself in the beautifully updated “Do-Re-Mi,” as Julie Andrews teaches her charges to sing. If you’d like to see the entire remastered film, it is available on Disney+, Amazon Prime and Hulu, among other streaming services. If you prefer seeing the “Sound of Music” live, the 60th anniversary celebrations also include an 80-city stage tour across North America that extends into 2026.
