  SHARED TO INFORM AND EDUCATE!  THESE ACTIONS ARE IGNORED BY CORPORATE MEDIA, BUT PEOPLE ARE  PROTESTING ICE GESTAPO ABUSE, NEGLECT, INHUMANE CONDITIONS AND  DENIAL OF DUE PROCESS AND COMMUNICATION.    40 weeks ago, we drove to the edge of the Florida Everglades and stood outside a detention facility in the sweltering heat. There was a lone sign that said "Alligator Alcatraz" on the side of Rt 41, miles through the entrance.  We knew there were people detained, 32 to a cage, who couldn't get word to their families about where they'd been taken or why. We didn't know how long we'd be doing this. We only knew that we would be there for as long as it takes – because we refuse to be silent in the face of this inhumane detention machine. Today is MLK Day – and we’re taking this moment as a commitment to action, just as Dr. King would expect of us.  The Workers Circle is returning to Selma March 5–9, 2026 for the 61st Jubilee Bridge Crossing and we’re building our biggest delegation yet.   We are down to the wire. This Friday, the public comment period closes on the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) dangerous data-sharing proposal with the Department of Homeland Security. We need to make our voices heard now and give the SSA a clear “NO” from the people they’re supposed to serve.
