  Hi, it’s Charles Booker, Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Kentucky against Rand Paul. Last night, my opponent skipped our debate so he could attend a fundraiser with his big-money friends. They even had a cup of water ready for him – but he didn’t show. It’s clear that Rand Paul doesn’t care about the people he represents. He’d rather cash checks from the special interests than make his case to Kentuckians. It’s time our commonwealth had a Senator willing to show up every day. I’m that Senator – but with just 5 weeks until Election Day, I need your help to fight back against the attacks and get across the finish line.   After losing almost everything, a community in East Kentucky is standing up to the coal industry and suing Blackhawk Mining. We know widespread strip mining has dramatically increased the risk and severity of these floods.  They deserve a leader who will fight for them, not against them. Rand Paul is not that leader. Rand Paul will never stand up to exploitative coal companies because you don’t bite the hand that feeds you.  That’s why he’s sold us out time and time again. Last I checked, Senators are elected to represent people, not corporations. Our grassroots movement is up against a lot of industry money in this race. So I’m asking you: will you chip in $10 to give us a leg up? There are many reasons why I’m running against Rand Paul. But the recent floods ravaging Kentucky have only made this race more urgent.
