Tell Congress: Pass War Powers Resolutions! Stop War on Iran.

Image
A ceasefire between the U.S., Israeli, and Iranian governments is hanging on by a thread: Peace talks held in Pakistan fell apart without an agreement in place to end the war. Days after Trump threatened genocide against the Iranian people, he has now ordered a naval blockade of Iran. And while the violence paused elsewhere, Israeli strikes have not stopped in Lebanon. Congress’ failure to rein Trump in has only emboldened him to expand this disastrous, historically unpopular war.  But as lawmakers return to Washington, they’ll have crucial opportunities to step in and save lives in a matter of days. Votes on war powers resolutions (WPRs) are anticipated  this week  in both the House and the Senate.   Previous votes fell short by razor-thin margins, and now, with violence likely to resume if the choice is left up to Trump, we must go all out to demand Congress get off the sidelines and stop war on Iran. Trump’s catastrophic war cannot go on any longer. Tell yo...

As the death toll rises, the White House is meme-ing their way through a horrific war

SHARED FOR EDUCATION AND INFORMATION THAT REFUTES THE LIES AND  PROPAGANDA CONCEALING THE FAILURES OF TRUMP'S WAR ON IRAN BASED  ON LIES!  CARTOON CHARACTERS DON'T CONCEAL THE HUMAN TOLL, BOMBING A  SCHOOL KILLING CHILDREN AND TEACHERS  AND THE WIDESPREAD  DEVASTATION!  THE COST OF TRUMP'S UNJUSTIFIED WAR IS $1 BILLION PER DAY, ADDING TO  THE NATIONAL DEBT ALONG WITH THE GLOBAL IMPACT OF FOSSIL FUEL  AND LNG PRICES....      War isn’t a game. But you wouldn’t know that by the way the Trump administration is pitching the misguided, unjustifiable violence they’ve unleashed across the Middle East to the American people. Their plan looks something like this: Step 1:   Join Israeli PM Netanyahu in an unjustified war of choice on Iran — with no authorization from Congress, no clear goals, and no exit plan. Step 2:   Use lowbrow memes, images from SpongeBob SquarePants, and cheap video game cuts, in a shameless, desperate at...

Three weeks. Countless bombs. Thousands killed.

30 backpacks. 138 pairs of shoes. A critical moment to honor lives cut short. On Capitol Hill this week, we memorialized 168 people — children, parents, and teachers — killed by a U.S. airstrike on a school in Iran. On February 28, hours into Trump’s senseless, illegal war against Iran, a U.S. Tomahawk missile hit Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab during morning classes. With over 100 children killed, the strike was one of the deadliest civilian casualty incidents involving U.S. forces in decades. The Trump administration still hasn’t taken responsibility — first baselessly assigning blame elsewhere. Trump later proclaimed, “I don’t know about that.” On Wednesday, we made sure decision-makers in DC couldn’t look away.   To the more than 600 of you who made contributions toward our installation — thank you. This event would not have been possible without your generosity. Win Without War was grateful to be joined by Sen. Chris Van Hollen and Reps. Jim McGovern, Greg...

Trump is pushing the U.S. terrifyingly close to all-out war

Image
Experts are bracing for a potential “massive, weeks-long” conflict in Iran as Trump amasses an “armada” of military firepower across the Middle East, including aircraft carriers, warships, and fighter jets —  despite no explanation, justification, or congressional authorization. It’s the same, failed violence-first strategy that has launched endless war after endless war, starts and ends with human suffering, and will do little to keep people in Iran, U.S. servicemembers, or anyone across the region safe. We know exactly what we need to do to respond, because we’ve been here before.  When Trump ordered strikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities, Win Without War helped lead the movement that pulled him back from an all-out war, just like we did multiple times during the first Trump administration. It means mobilizing tens of thousands of activists to demand their elected officials use every tool they’ve got to block Trump’s path to war, going door-to-door on the...

The killing in Gaza hasn’t stopped

Image
A hard-fought pause in violence has unfortunately done little to abate the suffering in Gaza, as bombs continue to fall and the ceasefire agreement hangs on by barely a thread. Days ago, Israeli military strikes across Gaza killed 104 people — including 46 children, some of whom were burned alive as they slept.[1] The violence marked the deadliest days yet since the October 10 “ceasefire” began — and the horrors continue to be carried out with U.S.-made weapons. In the past two years, the U.S. government has sent $21.7 BILLION worth of military aid — combat capable aircrafts, attack and transport helicopters, tens of thousands of bombs, missiles, and bullets — to the Israeli government, plus arms sales worth tens of billions of dollars more in future weapons deliveries.[2]   The Netanyahu government is using these weapons to undermine the ceasefire at every turn and jeopardize the lives of millions of people across the region. We CANNOT let this blank-check approach continue...

Mike Huckabee’s nomination for Ambassador to Israel must be stopped in its tracks. 🛑

Image
A leading Israeli newspaper just ran an editorial detailing multiple stories of state-fueled vigilante violence and impunity: torched cars, raids, and shootings.[1] Days before that, a mob of Israeli settlers attacked Hamdan Ballal, one of the Palestinian co-directors of the Oscar-winning film  No Other Land  in front of his family and home. Yet, when Senator Chris Van Hollen recently asked Mike Huckabee, Trump’s nominee for U.S. Ambassador to Israel, whether Palestinians living in the West Bank should have the same rights as Israeli Jews, he replied, “Senator, if you mean would they be able to live freely, they already do.” Checkpoints, mob violence, detention, land theft —  this  is Huckabee’s version of Palestinians living freely.   It’s an abhorrent worldview, and with lives on the line across Israel and Palestine, it’s up to us to remind every senator what’s on the line  before  they vote on Huckabee’s nomination tomorrow.  Right now, ...
