Avian flu, tariffs, frozen grants and funding, and the elimination of all federal diversity, equity, and inclusion programs are some of the challenges farmers are facing.

John Boyd Jr., a farmer and the founder and president of the National Black Farmers Association, says there's a cloud of uncertainty over farmers' heads, and this uncertainty affects loans, financing and planning for the planting season that's right around the corner.

Here & Now's Scott Tong speaks to Boyd about these challenges for all farmers.

In the aftermath of Donald Trump’s election, the share price of the high-flying electric car company he leads, Tesla, climbed to a high of roughly $480 per share. But it has since cratered to under $300. Shares dropped another 4 percent today, to close at $290.80 per share. For Musk, the world’s richest man and Tesla’s largest shareholder, those are just paper losses.
