Saturday’s Great News That’s Horrible for Musk and Trump SATURDAY APRIL 5TH: HANDS OFF PROTESTS!
Saturday’s Great News That’s Horrible for Musk and TrumpOnward!Today marks a historic moment, with more than 1,200 “Hands Off!” protests being held all across America. It’s shaping up to be the largest day of anti-Trump demonstrations this year. We’ll cover it tomorrow, but for now I’m glad to share more good news with you today. Let’s start with fmr. President Barack Obama, who blasted Republican hypocrisy during a speech at a Hamilton College event. “Imagine if I had pulled Fox News’ credentials from the White House press corps,” Obama said. “It’s unimaginable that the same parties that are silent now would have tolerated behavior like that from me or a whole bunch of my predecessors.” Obama also offered some much-needed comfort and hope, reminding us all that even in turbulent times, we have the power to steer the course of our destiny. “History zigs and zags and there are times of conflict and there are times of stupidity and there are times of danger,” he said. “Don’t get discouraged … I know it’s a little crazy right now, but we’re going to be OK.” Fmr. VP Kamala Harris echoed this sentiment at a separate event, saying: “Each day in the last few months understandably creates a sense of fear … We can’t go out there and do battle if we don’t take care of ourselves and each other … I’ll see you out there. I’m not going anywhere.” In other news, Tesla’s stock continued to nosedive yesterday, dropping 12% for the day and plummeting 38% since the start of the year. Analysts point to growing protests against Musk as a major reason for the company’s tumbling stock. Meanwhile, Trump sparked more GOP infighting by deciding to support remote voting for House Reps who are new parents. Speaker Mike Johnson, who has firmly opposed it, will likely buckle and act like this was his plan all along. The fractures in the Republican Party are getting bigger by the day. In the courts, a federal judge ordered the Trump Administration to return Maryland resident Kilmar Abrego Garcia, from a prison in El Salvador. The administration said deporting Abrego Garcia was an “administrative error.” Give me a break. Another federal judge says the Trump Administration violated a court order by delaying FEMA grants, and ordered the funds be released immediately. The Democratic Party has launched an initiative called “The People’s Cabinet,” bringing together former heads of key government agencies to push back against Trump, and counteract his destructive policies. Dem Sen. Adam Schiff and Dem Rep. Jamie Raskin scheduled a “shadow hearing” with a fmr. DoJ official—who resigned in protest of the attempt to drop charges against Eric Adams. Schiff said: “The Trump Administration is destroying the rule of law. Republicans in Congress won't hold them accountable. So Rep. Raskin and I will.” As Obama said: “It is up to all of us to fix this … The most important office in this democracy is the citizen.” Obama is spot-on. That’s why The Dworkin Report is relentlessly fighting back against Trump’s lies and propaganda—cutting through the nonsense to deliver the truth.
