"Cold-blooded murder"

Over the past two months, Donald Trump has killed 46 civilians in 10 separate airstrikes against what he claims, without evidence, to be "narcoterrorist" drug boats.1

It's "cold-blooded murder," in the words of Professor David Cole from the Georgetown University Law Center.2

Then on Friday, Trump escalated his threats against Venezuela by deploying a massive aircraft carrier strike group to the Caribbean and indicated that he intends to begin land attacks, all without asking for any congressional authorization for the use of force.3

We're mobilizing public support for a bipartisan resolution in the U.S. Senate to force a vote to stop Trump from starting a full-blown ground war with Venezuela — and the vote could come as soon as THIS WEEK.4

The UN explicitly condemned Trump's boat strikes, saying, "International law does not allow governments to simply murder alleged drug traffickers."5

Trump hasn't provided a shred of evidence to back up his claims that the people he killed were drug traffickers. They may have been innocent fishermen caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. Some weren't even headed toward the United States when they were killed.6

Now Trump wants to take his killing spree to the Venezuelan mainland, saying on Thursday, "I don't think we're going to necessarily ask for a declaration of war. I think we are going to kill people that are bringing drugs into our country, OK? We are going to kill them, you know? They are going to be, like, dead."7

Demand Progress Action has mobilized tens of thousands of people in support of the bipartisan War Powers Resolution blocking Trump's illegal war on Venezuela. Now, with the situation rapidly spiraling out of control, we're asking for your support.
