We were told that transitioning from an oil and gas importer to a fossil fuel exporter would make us more energy independent. But it hasn’t. Domestic production doesn’t matter if we’re still tied to these extremely volatile global oil markets. Here’s the truth: The only path to energy independence is through the rapid development of more clean and renewable energy right here at home.
