The only path to true energy independence

The price of oil has skyrocketed over $100 per barrel because of Donald Trump’s war in Iran and gas prices have increased by nearly 20% overnight.

This underscores a reality we’ve known all along: As long as we rely on global fossil fuels, our economy is at the mercy of foreign instability.

We were told that transitioning from an oil and gas importer to a fossil fuel exporter would make us more energy independent. But it hasn’t. Domestic production doesn’t matter if we’re still tied to these extremely volatile global oil markets.

Here’s the truth: The only path to energy independence is through the rapid development of more clean and renewable energy right here at home.

By transitioning to a clean energy economy, we will lower our energy bills, secure our future, and finally end the cycle of “forever oil wars.” We must act now to build a more sustainable future and put Americans back in charge of our own destiny.

Add your name to tell Donald Trump: No more forever oil wars!
