Trump’s attacks on the National Weather Service

WE DEPEND ON A FULLY STAFFED, FUNCTIONAL NATIONAL WEATHER

SERVICE TO MAKE DECISIONS.....IT PROTECTS LIVES!

There is a storm coming and it could get really bad… ⛈️☔

Donald Trump has left the National Weather Service extremely short-handed due to last year’s staff cuts, just as we approach a brutal storm season.

We are seeing the direct consequences of those cuts right now. These jobs are meant for public servants who are dedicated to keeping us safe, but it's clear Trump just doesn’t care.

Let’s face it: our federal workers and their families have faced the brunt of Trump’s attacks ever since his first day in office. He has purged scientists, biologists, chemists, and climate experts — especially targeting anyone who acknowledges the reality of climate change.

Those who survived the layoffs are now left with the extraordinary burden of filling the gaps while navigating the chaos and systemic problems left behind.

Public service is often a thankless job. We must do better to support the public servants who are working every day to protect us, especially as the climate crisis continues to accelerate. We are simply running out of time before the worst effects become our daily reality.

The crisis at the National Weather Service is only the latest example of why we need more SEEC climate champions in Congress who will stand up to these attacks on our government and ensure our agencies are equipped to serve the American people when they need it.

Will you please chip in now to help us continue fighting back against Trump’s attacks and supporting the people who help keep our country safe?
