Block Todd Blanche
![]() |
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anything as pathetic as this. At his first press conference as acting Attorney General, Todd Blanche did nothing to assert his independence from Donald Trump. In fact, he said:
Blanche used to be Trump’s personal lawyer. Now, as acting AG, he’s treating the Justice Department as Trump’s private law firm. This isn’t just pathetic — it’s dangerous.
It’s clear Todd Blanche still believes that Trump — not the United States — is his client. As deputy and acting AG, he has gone after Trump’s foes, purged hundreds of DOJ lawyers, proposed a $1.8 billion MAGA slush fund, brokered Trump’s corrupt IRS immunity deal, and botched the release of the Epstein files. Now, as Trump’s nominee for Attorney General, Blanche needs a simple majority to be confirmed. With the sudden passing of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and the continued absence of Mitch McConnell, just three Republican senators can stop this nomination. That includes Sens. Thom Tillis and John Cornyn, both outgoing Republicans on the Judiciary Committee, and Sens. Bill Cassidy and Lisa Murkowski. Thank you for watching, and thank you for taking action! Robert Reich
