Wilber was making a DoorDash delivery in Austin on Sunday when his car was sideswiped twice by ICE officers in an unmarked truck. An agent then shot him in the back.
It’s a miracle that Wilber survived, but this story gets even worse. ICE officers rushed him into custody from the hospital so fast that the bullet was still lodged in his back. He slept on a prison floor with a bullet inside of him with no pain medication or treatment. He now can’t move the left side of his body, and may be permanently paralyzed.
I want to be crystal clear. Nothing but unbridled racism, fascism, and lack of compassion could lead to such actions from ICE.
When I say ICE is a domestic terror organization, I mean it.
So far under Trump’s second term, ICE has shot 42 people resulting in 11 deaths. They’ve used unmarked cars to ram into people in traffic and run people off the road. They’ve brutalized protesters and observers. They’ve thrown civil rights out the window. And they’ve shown a complete disregard for the human beings they hold in their detention centers.
And to make it all worse, there has been zero accountability. No consequences for murdering Americans in the street. No investigations into their horrifying actions. It’s complete lawlessness, with Donald Trump giving ICE all the cover they need to act with impunity.
That’s why I’ve led the way on drafting legislation that would end Qualified Immunity for federal officers so that they can be taken to court, all the while continuing our push to Abolish ICE once and for all.
This needless cruelty must end.

Maria Elvira Salazar released a striking new ad telling Trump directly that Hispanic voters “feel betrayed” by his immigration agenda, marking a rare public break from the president by a member of his own party. In the ad, Salazar cites statistics showing 50% of people ICE detained in July “had no criminal record” and warns Trump to “be careful what your advisers are telling you,” while stopping short of asking for “amnesty” and instead calling for a “dignified life” for immigrants.
The ad lands as ICE arrests hit record highs, with roughly 51,000 people taken into custody in August alone, and as Florida’s heavy use of the 287(g) program, which deputizes local police for immigration enforcement, has made the state a hotspot for enforcement actions, including the recent “Alligator Alcatraz” facility that a DHS inspector general found had held nearly 80 detainees in small metal enclosures. Salazar represents a Miami-Dade district that is roughly three-quarters Hispanic and voted for Trump by nearly 15 points in 2024, underscoring how much political risk Republicans see in the crackdown.

ICE agent Jonathan Ross murdered Renee Good in broad daylight on January 3rd.
Instead of a transparent, independent investigation, Ross was placed on administrative leave for three days – then was quietly relocated to another state and put back out in the field.
And to add insult to anything resembling justice, the FBI investigation into Good's killing has effectively been frozen.
Kash Patel directed agents to reframe the entire inquiry, recasting Good as a suspect rather than a victim while her killer walked free.

Federal agents killed two US citizens during the regime’s invasion of Minneapolis. One of them was Renee Good—killed by ICE officer Jonathan Ross. The regime’s response: seize the evidence, lock out state investigators, and open a probe into Renee Good’s wife—targeting the grieving widow instead of the killer. Seriously.
University of St. Thomas law professor Rachel Moran said: “They appear to be actively preventing the state from investigating.” That’s not just incompetence. That’s a cover up.
US District Judge Jeffrey Bryan isn’t having it. On April 9, he ordered the regime to hand over Ross’s personnel files, body camera footage, medical and psychological evaluations, and cell phone data. And they only have three weeks to do it.
