Another hospital will close its doors on Brian Kemp’s watch

THE HEALTH CARE OF OUR FELLOW AMERICANS MATTERS!

Stacey Abrams for Governor

Just this week, Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center — one of Georgia’s largest hospitals — announced it will close its doors this year. This will mean that there is now only one hospital that can serve Level 1 trauma care in all of metro Atlanta and North Georgia. Millions of Georgians will be put at risk because of this closure.

This closure is part of a larger systemic issue in Georgia where 15 hospitals have shut down since 2014 — the majority of them happening under Brian Kemp. And there are currently 19 rural hospitals at risk of closure.

Yet, Brian Kemp refuses to take responsibility for costing millions of Georgians their health, safety and livelihoods.

This is a solvable problem — we can bring expanded medical care to Georgia. But we cannot solve it while Brian Kemp sits in the governor’s mansion.

I have a plan to expand health care in Georgia. I will protect the lives and livelihoods of everyone in this state. But first, I need your help to defeat Brian Kemp. Will you chip in $10 or whatever you can today to elect Stacey and help enact her vision for quality, affordable health care? Because when Brian Kemp refuses to expand Medicaid year after year, he’s turned down over $3 billion that could help cover uninsured patients and keep hospitals open.

We have the responsibility to demand the leadership we need for the future we deserve.

We don’t have that leadership under the current governor.

We need a governor who will expand health care access and reduce health care costs for all in Georgia — not restrict it. And I have a plan to expand health care all over the state.

The truth is: the livelihoods of millions of Georgians are at stake this election — and time is running out.

This is a tough moment. But together, we can make a difference in Georgia. If you’re able, could you please make a donation to power my fight to bring expanded health care to Georgia?

Let's get good done.

Stacey
