Macron Humiliates Trump On Ukraine
Macron Humiliates Trump On Ukraine2.24.25Happy Monday, readers, and thank you for making Today’s American News your source for news and analysis on the circus that is American politics and entertainment. Macron corrects Trump during joint presser on peace in Ukraine… Did French President Emanuel Macron just join the resistance? It’s not often that an American president is corrected by their co-host during a joint press conference, but it happened today at the White House. Macron insistently fact-checked Trump in real time as the latter attempted to downplay Europe’s support for Ukraine, and even in his second language, Macron refused to be drowned out by Trump’s bluster. Today marks the third anniversary of Putin’s full-scale, brutal, and unprovoked invasion of sovereign Ukrainian territory, following previous Putin incursions into Crimea and Donbas. CNN reports Macron “politely shut down President Trump's claim” that Europe only loaned money to Ukraine. “We provided real money, to be clear,” Macron said after reaching his arm over to Trump, who was shaking his wrist and dismissing the correction. Awkward. Trump effectively squashes FL gov campaign of Casey DeSantis… Politico reports, “Gov. Ron DeSantis and first lady Casey DeSantis had a message for donors and other important Republican backers over the last few weeks: Don’t throw your support to Rep. Byron Donalds, because Casey DeSantis was seriously considering jumping into the 2026 race for governor. That message was upended last Thursday night with a single social media post by President Donald Trump emphatically endorsing Donalds. And Trump’s decision may have also derailed an effort to preserve Gov. DeSantis’ conservative legacy ahead of another potential presidential run.” This should not come as a surprise. DeSantis and Trump still despise one another, but Ronnie should have known better than to expect Trump to sit by as he anointed his wife as his successor in Trump’s adopted state. No one knows WTF is going on with the “What did you do this week” emails… Elon Musk gave all federal employees a directive and a deadline – federal employees were required to respond to an email stating what they accomplished in the past week – and failure to do so would result in termination. As has been the case for much of the Trump administration, chaos ensued. “Federal agencies are split on whether employees should comply with Elon Musk's directive to list five accomplishments in the past week, sowing more confusion as the midnight deadline for responding looms,” NPR reported. Meanwhile, NBC News reports the employee responses “are expected to be fed into an artificial intelligence system to determine whether those jobs are necessary.” Wow. Musk is now saying that workers who do not reply will be given a second chance to respond. Lol. What a sh*tshow. Judge halts Trump administration from raids on certain houses of worship… CBS News reports, “A federal judge in Maryland blocked the Trump administration on Monday from carrying out immigration enforcement actions at certain places of worship for Quakers, Cooperative Baptists and Sikhs, who filed a lawsuit challenging President Trump's unwinding of a Biden-era memo that barred immigration arrests at certain protected locations. U.S. District Judge Theodore Chuang granted a request for a narrow preliminary injunction sought by the religious groups as they pursue their challenge to Mr. Trump's directive allowing federal immigration authorities to conduct enforcement actions at places of worship. Chuang's order does not block the administration's policy nationwide, and only applies to houses of worship owned or used by the challengers — the Quakers, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and the Sikh Temple.” Chuang wrote, “armed law enforcement officers operating in or at places of worship pursuant to the 2025 policy will adversely affect the ability of Quakers and Sikhs to follow their religious beliefs or worship freely.” It is easy to see Judge Chuang’s order applying to all houses of worship – and the Trump administration will continue to have to defend their indefensible policy in court. Today’s Buzz Jane Fonda steals the show with resistance-fueled SAG acceptance speech… Two-time Academy Award winner and activist Jane Fonda, known recently for her performance as Grace in Grace and Frankie, was awarded the life achievement award at the 31st Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. Her speech was fiery and resistance-fueled. Here it is: In another week of chaos, we thank you for following. Tune back in tomorrow evening for the next edition of Today’s American News. |
