Exclusive: NY AG Letitia James on Cases Against Trump THANK YOU NY AG LETITIA JAMES!

Watch now   Exclusive: NY AG Letitia James on Cases Against Trump Trump may think he’s above the law, but Letitia James is here to remind him—and the rest of us—that he’s not. MeidasTouch Network and Ben Meiselas Mar 12 I had the privilege of sitting down with New York Attorney General Letitia James for a powerful and sobering conversation on the MeidasTouch Network—and if you think Trump’s fraud is limited to his bank statements, think again. Let’s be clear: Attorney General James already made history by holding Donald Trump accountable in court, winning a $486 million civil fraud judgment for his years of cooking the books and inflating his assets to cheat the system. But what she shared with me goes beyond numbers. It’s a warning: Trump’s criminal business tactics are now being replicated in how he’s running the government—and the stakes couldn’t be higher. James laid it out plainly. Trump and his MAGA enablers aren’t just engaging in fraud anymore—they’re waging a full-blown war on democracy. They’re using fake numbers to justify gutting Social Security and essential services. They’re flooding our institutions with chaos and contempt. And they’re doing it all while trying to consolidate power, punish dissenters, and dismantle the very rule of law. As James said, “Authoritarian government requires cooperation and consent. But democracy, my friends, requires courage.” Let that sink in. She didn’t hold back on the damage being done—whether it’s Elon Musk and his merry band of tech oligarchs invading our private data, or Trump’s DOJ lawyers bumbling around in court with no answers, no staff, and no shame. This administration is so sloppy, so corrupt, and so unmoored from the law, it makes Nixon look like a choirboy. But here’s what gives me hope: Letitia James and a network of Democratic attorneys general across the country are holding the line. When Trump issues one of his authoritarian executive orders—whether it’s trying to terminate protections for Venezuelan immigrants, gut funding for rural schools, or fire federal workers illegally—James and her colleagues are in court filing restraining orders and winning. Over and over again. She made it clear: this is about more than legal battles. It’s about protecting real people—veterans, teachers, LGBTQ+ communities, immigrants, seniors, working families—who Trump treats as expendable pawns in his quest for power. And while MAGA Republicans cower in silence, AG James is out here organizing town halls, uniting the resistance, and preparing for every scenario. Project 2025? She and her team have dissected it, mapped it, and are building the legal infrastructure to stop it in its tracks. So if you’re feeling anxious about the future, I get it. But James urged us all to stand up and “have some steel in [our] back.” She assured us that there are more of us than there are of them, and encouraged us to “tell the stories and let people know that this too, is our country.” She’s right. It’s time to stand up, speak out, and get loud. Because we don’t need a king—we need a democracy. And with people like Letitia James leading the charge, we’ve got a fighting chance.
