Add your name to defend the Voting Rights Act before it’s too late

 

Hi, it's Robert Garcia — the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee. 

I won’t sugarcoat it: Right now, the Voting Rights Act — the cornerstone of American democracy — is under attack.

Section 2 of the VRA outlaws racial discrimination in voting. It’s what ensures every voter — no matter their race, zip code, or background — has a fair shot at electing leaders who truly represent their communities.

But extremist politicians are trying to gut it, paving the way for more gerrymandering, more voter suppression, and less representation for communities of color.

The Supreme Court must protect the Voting Rights Act. We cannot go back to an era where politicians pick their voters instead of voters picking their representatives. We cannot allow decades of civil rights progress to be erased in a single court decision.

That’s why I’m calling on you to join me in demanding that SCOTUS uphold Section 2 and preserve the VRA — because free and fair elections are not negotiable. Add your name to our petition right now to stand up for the Voting Rights Act and defend every American’s right to vote.
