This is a moment when a 1-minute call to your state representative could make a difference.

A bill proposed by Rep. Mark Cusack, Mass. House chair of the Telecommunications, Utilities, and Energy Committee, is expected to move quickly to a vote in that committee. The bill would roll back many of the state’s goals and gains on clean energy and environment. You can read more in this toolkit from Mass Power Forward, a coalition of 200-some groups like us; or in the attached Boston Globe article.

Send an email or leave a voice message for your state representative urging them to oppose H.3469, a bill that rolls back clean-energy goals.

The toolkit gives you more ideas about how to make it more personal or add a talking point. But most likely your call will go to voice mail, and aides will mainly just be counting how many calls/emails they get and reporting it to the rep.

The important thing is to call (or email) and say you oppose this bill! Please let us know when you’ve done it.

MY SAMPLE LETTER: 

As your constituents, we respectfully request that you oppose any attempts to 

ROLL BACK CLEAN ENERGY GOALS! 

WE NEED TO CONTINUE  TO REDUCE ENERGY COSTS & PROVIDE MASSACHUSETTS RESIDENTS WITH TOOLS TO REDUCE THEIR ENERGY CONSUMPTION! 

As you know, MASSACHUSETTS enjoys OLDER, HISTORIC BUILDINGS that can be made more ENERGY EFFICIENT. 

Let's continue to work in the direction of ENERGY EFFICIENCY! 

While it's mundane information, several years ago, we replaced 2 LEDs - cost $1 each  for ALWAYS ON LIGHTS. The following month, the bill dropped $5 ! IMPRESSIVE PAYBACK ON $2 INVESTMENT! 

While we're not complaining since our electric bill is usually ~ $42 each month, we recently began replacing CFLs with LEDS (at a time when 1000BULBS was offering most bulbs for $1 each. TRUMP's irrational TARIFFS have caused the 

prices to increase.) 

We ordered several cartons of LED BULBS for $1 each. 

We've taken personal actions to reduce our ENERGY CONSUMPTION  by purchasing ENERGY STAR rated appliances that TRUMP eliminated. 


As you know, FEDERAL POLICY needs to echo similar GOALS rather than continue to embrace DIRTY ENERGY! 

CHINA is promoting CHEAP CLEAN SOLAR & offering kits to poor nation to provide dependable electricity that include SOLAR PANELS & BATTERY BACKUP. 

While CHINA isn't perfect, they are recognized for their efforts to reduce AIR POLLUTION & FOSSIL FUEL EMISSIONS.  THEIR ECNOMY IS PROSPERING as a consequence. 

TRUMP ETAL ATTACKS on OFFSHORE WIND have jeopardized not only jobs, but enough ENERGY to power more than + 1 MILLION HOMES. 

THE FUTURE IS RENEWABLES!
