My Fellow Democracy Defenders,
For many years, Will Stancil has led the resistance against fascism in Minnesota. Trump’s ICE Gestapo is retreating. We the people won! I have written about the inspired bravery of Tim Walz, Jacob Frey, Ilhan Omar, Amy Klobuchar, Don Lemon, Liam Ramos, Alex Pretti, and Renee Good. Today, let’s recognize the will of Will!

In the long shadow of the sky-blue towers,
Where the Mississippi churns and the frost bites,
A different kind of storm gathers its powers,
Against the encroaching, chaotic nights.
They speak of a darkness spreading like a stain,
A whisper of tyranny, a shout of disdain,
From the southern halls to the northern gate,
Where the winter comes and the autumns wait.
But rising from the sidewalks of the Twin Cities,
A voice cuts through the static and the pity,
Will Stancil stands with a scholar’s might,
To turn the creeping shadow back to light.
With a thread of logic and a shield of law,
He draws a line against the authoritarian flaw,
Not with the fury of a burning flame,
But with the steady pulse of a civic name.
He names the danger lurking in the guise,
Of the strongman’s mask and the populist lies,
He speaks for the many, the quiet, the true,
The defenders of liberty, steadfast and blue.
In Minneapolis, where the lakes freeze hard,
He rallies the will to discard the shard,
Of the broken glass of a fractured land,
With an open palm and a steady hand.
Against the tide of the gilded bull,
He stands as a sentinel, thoughtful and full,
Of a hope that is earned, not merely desired,
A Minnesota fire that cannot be tired.
So let the north wind blow fierce and cold,
For the story of resistance is brave and bold,
With Stancil leading the charge from the front,
A beacon of reason, a sturdy blunt.
Let’s keep singing the NO KINGS ANTHEM together at protests every week!
