Why did this Democrat vote to fund ICE?
Congress is full of too many do-nothing Democrats who say one thing, then vote the other way.
That’s especially true of Rep. Doris Matsui, who’s represented Sacramento in Congress for over 20 years.
This year, she’s tried to take credit for opposing ICE. So why did she vote to fund their terrorism five times? Maybe it’s because she’s taking campaign contributions from the private contractors carrying out ICE’s mass deportations.
We don’t have to settle for this kind of two-faced leadership.
That’s why we endorsed Mai Vang, who’s challenging Matsui in the CA-07 Democratic primary election on June 2.
Mai is the child of refugees, a community organizer, and a Sacramento city councilmember who’s seen the pain Trump's fascism has caused up close.
Instead of voting to fund Trump’s American gestapo and calling to “reform” it, Mai supports abolishing ICE.
While Matsui takes support from AIPAC, Mai supports ending military funding to Israel.
Mai will fight for the progressive priorities we need — like Medicare for All and the Green New Deal.
Races like this will define the future of the Democratic Party. We can be ruled by out-of-touch, corporate-backed Democrats, or we can elect a new generation of leaders ready to fight for the working class.
Mai’s end-of-month fundraising deadline is coming up tomorrow at midnight. Can you split a $15 grassroots donation between her campaign and Justice Democrats to help us win in just over a month
