No taxpayer payouts for January 6 rioters!

 

January 6 rioters attacked police, stormed the Capitol, and tried to overturn an election.   Now Donald Trump wants to treat them like victims and possibly pay them with our money. Absolutely not!   Sign the petition: Tell Congress to block any taxpayer-funded payout to January 6 rioters.   Trump’s Justice Department already backed away from one proposed compensation fund after the idea became politically toxic. But Trump is still praising the idea and refusing to rule out payments for January 6 defendants — even those accused of attacking police.   More than 140 officers were injured defending the Capitol that day. The people who beat, crushed, sprayed, and terrorized them should not get a taxpayer-funded payday.   Even Mike Pence said violent January 6 rioters should “never get a dime.” Mitch McConnell said no one should excuse violence against police.
