In 2017, the retailer Claire’s was forced to pull some children’s makeup off its shelves after Target 12 reported that tests ordered by Deaton’s law firm discovered asbestos in the products. He later raised concerns about the FDA’s lack of authority over cosmetics.
Separately, Deaton had a yearslong fight with Barrington officials over his 2017 arrest during an altercation with his girlfriend’s ex-husband. He has since sued the town in federal court, alleging police acted unlawfully. That suit remains in active in both state court and federal appeals court, according to Barrington Town Manager Philip Hervey.

Deaton's whole campaign is to say we need a change from Warren, but change for the sake of change is something politically ignorant people cry for. Warren is an upstanding person with a civil service background. She deserves our vote. Falsely claiming she doesn't help the middle class isn't going to get Deaton more votes.
