Dallas County has about 1.5 million registered voters and 444 places to vote on Election Day. Tarrant County, right next door, has about 1.2 million and only 223. That means every polling place in Tarrant has to handle about 5,500 voters, compared with about 3,400 in Dallas. I’m so glad you’re in this fight with me. Fox News Just Gave Trump HisWorst NumberFox News put out its latest poll last Wednesday. Trump’s approval was 36% and his disapproval was 64%. Fox has polled him through both terms, and that’s the lowest number it has ever had for him. On inflation, 22% approved—down from 36% in July of last year. Other polls are showing the same slide in approval. NBC News had him at 34%, and the Washington Post-ABC-Ipsos poll had him at 33%. Reuters/Ipsos and CNN both recorded their lowest numbers for him in either term—31% and 32%. The New York Times had him at 36%. It’s no wonder Reuters found at least 12 Republican candidates who took Trump’s name, photo, or endorsement off their campaign websites. Democrats are ahead in all six polls when people are asked which party they want running Congress, by 8 to 12 points. Trump promised to bring prices down on day one. He lied, wreaked havoc on the economy, and now he’s paying for it.
A County Trump Won By 21 PointsJust Said NoOn September 9, the county commissioners in Weld County, Colorado—a county Trump won by 21 points—voted 5-0 to approve an AI data center outside the town of Windsor. It could become the biggest one in the state. There were two hearings. About 60 people spoke against it while only three spoke for it. Kurt Gulder has lived in Windsor for 11 years, about a mile from the site. Gulder said of the commissioners: “All they see is the big shiny tax dollars.” So Weld County residents started a petition drive. On September 28, the county clerk signed off on two petitions from a group called Protect Our Water and Energy Resources. One forces a special election on the data center unless the commissioners undo their vote. The other bans any new data center in the county unless voters approve it. Each petition needed about 9,100 valid signatures in 45 days. In just two weeks, they gathered more than 30,000—about 15,000 each. Gulder and his wife, Jeanette, signed both in a King Soopers parking lot. Matt Cheroutes runs the campaign. When the drive launched, he said: “The commissioners had their vote. Now it’s the people’s turn.” If enough signatures check out, the commissioners have to reverse themselves or let the whole county vote. Trump has spent his second term doing favors for data center companies. Voters in a county he won by more than 20 points aren’t doing them any.
The Quiet Team Getting Ready For TrumpAbout ten current and former national security officials have been working with members of both parties in ten states to prepare for what Trump might do next to interfere in the midterms, the Washington Post reported Tuesday. Many of them came from the Pentagon. They’re planning for scenarios like Trump sending immigration agents or troops to polling places. Tammy Patrick works for the National Association of Election Officials. She says federal interference is now the top concern she hears. She brought up Trump pressuring states to redraw their maps and trying to limit mail voting. “All of these things are being done in the open,” she said. They’ve already seen what Trump will do. On January 28, FBI agents raided the Fulton County election office and took about 660 boxes of 2020 ballots and records. Georgia counted those ballots three times. In a statement, White House spokesperson Lauren Bis said the regime “is taking decisive action to protect our elections.” Seizing ballots from an election that ended six years ago doesn’t protect anything. Trump is a coward, and he’s scared of losing. That’s why he keeps threatening our elections. But ten states are getting ready for him, with officials from both parties involved. Our part is to vote and bring people with us.
Texas Cut Polling Places. VotersShowed Up Anyway.On September 1, the Republicans who run Tarrant County, Texas—which includes Fort Worth—voted to close 92 Election Day polling places. That’s nearly a third of them. Republican County Judge Tim O’Hare said it would save about $1 million, and that turnout at those sites was low two years ago. I went through the state’s own list of polling places. It shows Tarrant County has only 223 places to vote on Election Day. Next door Dallas County—with only about a fifth more registered voters—has 444, nearly double. Early voting started Monday, and Tarrant voters showed up anyway. By the end of the day, 50,409 people had voted. On the first day of early voting in 2022, it was 29,197. Some lines ran 30 to 45 minutes or longer. Ericka Rhodes waited in one, and she told FOX 4: “So yeah, a little long. It’s okay. It’s worth it.” It was like that across Texas. Harris County, home to Houston, broke its first-day midterm record by 3:30 in the afternoon. Dallas County had its biggest first day ever. Denton County beat its first day in 2018 by more than 80%. El Paso nearly doubled its first day from 2022. Republicans closed nearly a third of Tarrant County’s Election Day polling places. On the first day of early voting, 50,409 people there voted anyway. Trump wants you to think he can’t be beaten. Even his favorite channel’s poll numbers say otherwise. But we’re not taking anything for granted. We’re going to work like we’re behind right up until the polls close on November 3. And no matter what happens that night, the work continues. A PATH TO PREVENT THE REPUBLICANS FROM STEALING THE NOVEMBER 3RD ELECTIONS
WE CAN BEAT THEM AT THEIR OWN GAME
We know from a whistle-blower that the Republicans have devised a scheme to hang on to their majorities in both Houses of Congress after the November 3rd elections by refusing to swear in elected Democrats against whom election fraud accusations have been made, which will most likely be specious. Yesterday, the Republicans just increased the prospects of more accusations against duly elected Democrats by offering $25 million dollars in rewards to the accusers. It is not beyond comprehension that the very Republicans behind this scheme may be fabricating or fomenting such allegations.
However, given the opportunity for sleaze with hundreds of millions of dollars from billionaire donors and from some very shady contributors, such practices by Republicans may be ripe for abuse and fraud.
If the Republicans refuse to swear in elected Democrats accused of fraud, they must similarly refuse to swear in elected Republicans accused of fraud. Their failure or refusal to do so would immediately expose their scheme as a scam to prevent the Democrats from gaining their rightful majorities in each House.
The Democrats will need a net gain of 4 additional seats in each House to secure majorities.
Therefore, if the Democrats duly win their elections in each House of Congress by at least 4 and match or exceed the Republican accusations that would be subject to refusals to swear them in pending investigations, those remaining would enable the Democrats to still achieve their majorities in each House after all.
The Republicans have obviously failed to recognize that, as the saying goes, two can play the same game.

I took my filled out mail-in ballot to my local City Hall and dropped it in the ballot box INSIDE the building. In 2020, in Bainbridge Island, Washington, someone managed to slip a mini Molotov cocktail into our ballot box and burned up about 3,500 ballots. I'm not taking any chances this election!

I think we all know even when the polls close on that evening… it’s not over. We must be prepared for the recounts , the lies, the fighting. I believe even if…. I live in Larimer County, a direct neighbor to Weld, which is usually our conservative neighbor. But I am so proud of them today! Way to organize and fight back, neighbor!! No more data centers!!

Hubby and I voted in Texas on the second day of early voting. The crowd was bigger than I’ve ever seen and I’ve been voting in this state since 1976. Pay no attention to the polls!! This morning I realized - they need him to be like this. That's why they keep him. So everyone is distracted by his insanity and meanwhile they can rig everything in the background. I voted early in DuPage County, Illinois last week. There was no line and it was quiet and relaxed. I walked out feeling optimistic about what this election means for our country. I encourage everyone I see to vote!

I fear once we win IQ47 will shut the country down, thus keeping the newly elected from being sworn in.....and his antics proceeding forward without any governance or guard rails. But one thing has puzzled me for a while now: It seems to me that I've been reading for months that Trump's approval rating is around 31%. But then I keep reading that's now "sliding" into the low 30s. Am I just reading the wrong sources? Hasn't it been there for some time already?

I’m in Texas, and yes the Repubs closed the polling site in the “traditional black” neighborhoods around our county. The lines at the other polling places in town were longer because of it.
I only waited about 20 minutes on the first day when I went in. The only people holding signs outside were three older white guys with Republican signs.

Received the text that my vote is received and accepted, now I am checking to make sure everyone I know has voted after I took my Mom's friend to vote.
