FWD: TAKE ACTION: Tell the Senate: Stop Trump’s anti-abortion, anti-voting rights judicial nominee!

President Donald Trump is racing to add yet another dangerous and biased judge to the federal courts. Benjamin Flowers has a record of being anti-abortion, anti-trans, and hostile to voting rights and diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. He is currently up for a spot on the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals—and will soon receive a vote by the Senate Judiciary Committee. Now is the time to act to stop this dangerous nominee.

Tell the Senate: Vote NO on Benjamin Flowers’ Judicial Nomination

We deserve unbiased federal judges who will protect the rights of everyday people, no matter their race, gender, or sexual orientation.

TAKE ACTION

Trump selected Flowers precisely because of his record opposing reproductive freedom, LGBTQIA+ rights, voting rights protections, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. As Ohio’s Solicitor General, Flowers actively worked to restrict access to abortion care and weaken civil rights protections. If given a lifetime federal judgeship, he would have the power to shape the law for decades.

A Senate confirmation would lock in a dangerous legacy of bias and extreme ideology. Don't let that happen. Make your voice heard today. Tell your senators to OPPOSE Benjamin Flowers’ nomination and protect our rights!

Subject: TAKE ACTION: Tell the Senate to reject Trump’s anti-abortion, anti-LGBTQIA+ judicial nominee!

President Donald Trump continues to pack the federal courts with nominees who put loyalty to him ahead of justice. His latest pick, Benjamin Flowers, nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit, has spent his career attacking reproductive freedom, undermining LGBTQIA+ rights, and advocating to criminalize doctors who perform abortions. At every opportunity, he used his former position as Ohio’s Solicitor General to attack our freedoms and civil rights.

Tell the Senate: Vote NO on Benjamin Flowers’ nomination.

We deserve fair-minded judges who will uphold the rights of all people, not judges who weaponize the law to serve an extremist agenda.

TAKE ACTION

Flowers has spent his career working to restrict abortion access.
As Ohio Solicitor General, Flowers defended a partial ban on abortions that subjected doctors to felony charges and license revocation, a law condemned by disability and reproductive rights groups. He also challenged Biden-era regulations encouraging abortion counseling and referrals. Further, Flowers supported false and misleading claims that an Ohio ballot measure actually "protected abortion rights."

Flowers is a Trump-aligned lawyer who prioritizes ideology over justice.
He has praised extreme Trump-appointed judges and mocked concerns about Trump staffing the government with loyalists as “shrieking about 'fascism.'”

Flowers has also fought to strip LGBTQIA+ people of their rights.
He filed a brief defending Ohio’s ban on gender-affirming care for trans youth, calling gender dysphoria an “ideology-driven push to maim vulnerable children” and comparing necessary care to the eugenics movement. He also argued that allowing trans students to use bathrooms and play sports consistent with their gender identity a violation of religious freedom and parental rights.

Flowers opposes civil rights and voting protections.
He called diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives “immoral” and “illegal,” praised efforts to end them, and urged the Supreme Court to further undermine the Voting Rights Act beyond the recent Louisiana v. Callais decision.

Flowers’ record is one of extreme partisanship and activism, not impartiality.
His career demonstrates a pattern of putting partisan loyalty and extreme ideology ahead of fairness and equal justice under law. The 6th Circuit’s rulings affect millions across the Midwest and South, and his confirmation would have devastating consequences for reproductive rights, LGBTQIA+ protections, voting rights, and civil rights.

Trump nominated Flowers for one reason: because he has proven he will advance an extreme agenda from the bench. The Senate must not confirm him.

Tell your senators: Oppose Benjamin Flowers’ nomination.
