The Comey prosecution is a sham

Dear Friend,

Let’s not mince words: The Justice Department is currently operating as a state-sponsored revenge squad.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is essentially auditioning for a permanent job by turning the DOJ into a weapon. The department is prosecuting a man over a picture of seashells arranged to read "86 47." Seashells.

It’s a nakedly absurd claim that’s been witheringly dissected by The New Republic.

As we’re tracking Trump’s transformation of the Justice Department, TNR is also following Democratic leaders like Adam Schiff who are already working to "fascism-proof" our system—and fighting for protections that ensure no future authoritarian can ever do this again.

But we can’t do this without your help. Please, join today to help TNR keep the pressure on.

Yes, I'll join!

We cannot rely on "norms" to protect us from a lawless president hell-bent on revenge. We need to keep shining a light on this.
