I'm finally ready to share my review of the Melania movie with you. Just kidding. But in the time I could have spent watching it, I started asking some very serious questions — because what's happening here goes far beyond a documentary. Here's what we know: Amazon paid $40 million for the rights to the Melania film. Of that, about $28 million goes directly into Melania Trump's pocket. Amazon reportedly beat the next-highest bidder by a whopping $26 million. But the film didn’t even make $16.6 million at the box office. And it doesn’t appear that Amazon expects to break even. So why would one of the most powerful corporations in the world lose tens of millions of dollars on a movie? That’s what I want to find out. And I need you by my side to stay on this. Want to know why Amazon overpaid by tens of millions for a Trump family film while billions in federal favors were also up for consideration? Add your name to join me in demanding answers. Is Jeff Bezos and Amazon willing to do whatever it takes to promote Mrs. Trump’s vanity project because they have a mountain of business pending before the Trump administration? - A major FTC antitrust lawsuit that could fundamentally reshape Amazon's business model
- Foreign trade deals where Amazon lobbied the administration to bully other countries into dropping regulations
- Corporate tax cuts that have already shaved billions off Amazon's tax bill — last year alone, Amazon's federal tax bill dropped by 87%
Does that sound like it could be a bribe to you? I had the same question. Federal anti-bribery laws prohibit offering anything of value to elected officials to influence their official acts. And while we're on the subject of corruption, let’s not forget about the Trump Presidential Library fund. Amazon, Meta, Paramount, X, and ABC all settled lawsuits with Trump by promising up to $63 million in donations to his presidential library. But then that fund was mysteriously dissolved. So where did THAT money go? Not one of those corporations could give a clear answer about where their multimillion-dollar donations are. And Trump certainly isn’t offering up any information on the subject. If you want answers about Amazon’s payments to the Trump family, add your name here. Donald Trump has turned the presidency into a nightmare of corruption. This is exactly what I've been warning about. And I'm not going to stop fighting until we get real answers. Thanks for being part of this, Elizabeth |
