Markwayne Mullin announced he is drawing up plans to halt international flight processing in cities he has decided are not cooperating with his immigration agenda.    His stated rationale was protests outside a detention facility in Newark where Senator Andy Kim was pepper sprayed by immigration agents. KEEP RESISTMAP ON MULLIN'S CASE Let me translate that into operational terms. CBP agents process every single person who arrives on an international flight, including American citizens returning home, tourists, business travelers, and foreign nationals with valid visas. Halting that processing does not stop immigration.  Planes cannot simply divert to other airports when an international hub goes offline.  Airlines cancel flights and airports lose revenue.  The economic damage radiates outward into every business that depends on international travel, and it lands on red state tourism economies just as hard as blue ones. There is no immigration enforcement logic behind this. Mullin knows it and his own legal experts know it. Former DHS officials are calling it actively insane in public.  This is a man essentially using the machinery of the federal government to punish cities for allowing their residents to protest on public sidewalks. We clocked Mullin from the day he walked into DHS and we are not taking our eyes off him. Chip in to keep ResistMap logging every move he makes.
