Let me be clear: I am voting "No" on the outrageous, harmful Republican spending bill. It gives Trump and Elon Musk a blank check and enormous power, turning your tax dollars into a wanna-be dictator's slush fund to use as he wants, including by funding programs in red states and defunding them in blue states. It is absolutely unacceptable, and Congress should not give Trump and Musk more power to exploit America. Right now, we're in an extraordinary moment where we have an authoritarian president who has fired the inspector generals, the watchdogs over the executive branch. He has fired the FBI agents who work to stop fraud and corruption, including in the executive branch. He has intimidated the press, and he has been blackmailing members of Congress with threats to use Elon Musk's money in the next set of primaries. We have to stand up to this authoritarian president now. We know from watching republics around the world that it may be tempting to wait for another moment to take on an authoritarian executive, but they only get more powerful and do more harm. That’s why it’s so important to take a stand now and vote "No" on this bill. I'm voting HELL NO on the disastrous full-year CR written by Republicans to enhance Trump and Musk's power.
