Billionaire and failing Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent got roasted while trying to have a nice dinner in DC this week. During the meal, an activist raised a glass for a toast, stating: “We want to make an announcement! We have a special guest here, and we want to make a toast for the Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent.” Bessent clearly thought it was going to be positive until the activist said: “So let’s give it up for the man who is eating in peace as people starve across the world based on his sanctions.” A visibly uncomfortable Bessent booed in response, complained to staff several times, and eventually stormed out in disgrace. The person who made the toast later said: “We should be confronting [the Trump regime] with our voice as much as we can, because people across the world are affected by this.” Absolutely right. DOJ SLAMMED FOR EPSTEIN FAILURES
Yesterday, the DOJ failed to deliver all of the Epstein files, which they were required to do by law. They made up a bunch of excuses, acting like they care about the survivors, when all they actually care about is covering up for Trump and his friends. Dem Reps. Jamie Raskin and Robert Garcia sent out a joint statement about this, saying: “Donald Trump and the Department of Justice are now violating federal law as they continue covering up the facts and the evidence about Jeffrey Epstein’s decades-long, billion-dollar, international CHILD sex trafficking ring.” And Dem Rep. Ro Khanna reminded the Trump regime: “Anyone who tampers with these documents or conceals documents or engages in excessive redactions will be prosecuted because of obstruction of justice. We will prosecute individuals regardless of whether they’re the attorney general or a career or a political appointee.” I’ve already looked through thousands of the Epstein files that were released yesterday—and what I saw was beyond disturbing. Let’s start with the fact that Trump has no legal authority to add his name to monuments, which include the Kennedy Center. Not that Trump cares—he did it anyway. While millions of Americans are about to see their healthcare premiums spike—including myself—this is what he’s focused on? In response to the illegal act, Dem Rep. Joyce Beatty said the regime has “no regard for the rule of law. They are acting as … criminals do.” The great news here is things like this can easily be undone by a Democratic president. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz let Trump have it this week for skyrocketing healthcare costs. “He is a damn fool,” Walz said, adding that Trump has “the stupidest assessment of healthcare that I have ever heard out of someone in a position of authority.” Walz added that any bogus plan from Trump is coming from someone “who I guarantee you has never had to purchase their own healthcare.” That’s a point that needs to be repeated over and over again. America is in a horrible place right now and every single day, I do my little part to fight and resist. I write letters, postcards, make phone calls, sign petitions and protest. What I hope and pray for is that other Americans, like me, are doing what they can as well. To be honest, some days I feel that no matter how hard we fight and resist, we continue down this dark path and there just doesn't seem to be any end in sight! I will campaign hard for my candidates in the midterms and hope that we can take back the House and the Senate and stop this mad man before it is just too late. |
