Unsolicited advice

NYC MAYOR ZOHRAN MAMDANI IS AN INSPIRATION TO US ALL!

Zohran for New York City

A few months ago, as I was preparing to be sworn in as Mayor, I received some unsolicited advice about what I should say in my Inaugural Address.

I was told that this would be the occasion for me to reset expectations. That I should use the opportunity to encourage the people of New York to ask for little and expect even less.

But I did no such thing — because that’s not why I ran for Mayor. Today and every day, I want to reaffirm to you that the only expectation I seek to reset is that of small expectations.

With you by my side, I will keep uplifting the needs, hopes, and dreams of everyday New Yorkers. We may not always succeed. But never will we be accused of lacking the courage to try.

The powerful movement we’ve built together is about improving New Yorkers’ lives. It’s about organizing and advocating for progress today so that we can build a better, more affordable tomorrow. That is the work I am asking you to be a part of right now:

If it makes sense for your budget, can I count on you to donate any amount today to keep our campaign going? No contribution is too small to make a difference.
