He is attempting to slash the IRS budget by $1.4 billion, specifically targeting the enforcement divisions that hold the most powerful interests in this country accountable.
Terri is fighting these cuts in the Ways and Means Committee, but she needs to show that her constituents and supporters are behind her.

Donald Trump’s budget for 2027 proposes $1.4 billion in cuts to the IRS, with $900 million specifically gutted from enforcement — a division dedicated to ensure that people and corporations actually pay the taxes they legally owe.
This decision comes on the heels of a $1.1 billion cut to the IRS annual budget this year and years of chipping away at the Inflation Reduction Act funds that were finally allowing the agency to modernize its technology and improve customer service for honest taxpayers.
As Ranking Member of the Ways and Means Oversight Subcommittee, I am deeply disturbed by these proposals. Let’s be clear: These cuts are designed to help Donald Trump’s wealthy friends and allies dodge our tax laws while working families continue to feel the squeeze of rising prices.
